Between scrubs and bubbles

Going back to Cape Town means spending all of my money on Lush products. I usually buy more of their bath products, like bubble bars and bath bombs, but this time I bought more face and hair products. Here are some of the first ones I bought.

Volver a Ciudad del Cabo significa gastar todo mi dinero en productos de Lush. Normalmente lo que más compro son sus productos para el baño, cómo bombas de baño y  burbujas, pero ésta vez compré más productos para la cara y el pelo. Aquí os dejo algunos de los productos que compré primero.

Jason and the Argan Oil is a shampoo bar made with rose absolute and argan oil. It's restorative, it softness your hair a lot and gives it brightness and strenght. The smell is exactly the same as Rose Jam and Ro's Argan, it's my favorite smell from Lush, it's the best, they should have a perfume with this scent, seriously. The only problem I find in this product is that it's a bit powdery; the bar crumbles easily, which makes it difficult to use in the shower.

Jason and the Argan Oil es un champú sólido hecho con rosa y aceite de argán. Es reconstituyente , suaviza y le da a tu cabello más brillo y fuerza. El olor es exactamente el mismo de Rose Jam y Ro's Argan, el cual es mi olor favorito, es lo mejor, tendrían que hacer un perfume de ésta fragrancia en serio. El único problema que le encuentro a éste producto es que se rompe con facilidad y se hace difícil usarlo en la ducha.

American Cream is a hair conditioner which contains honey, strawberries and vanilla. Inspired by the 50's milkshake and ice cream parlours in the states, it smells sweet but subtle and it helps your hair soften and shine. I haven't used it that much, but I do find it leaves your hair softer and smelling like no other product has ever made my hair smell: super good and for a very long time, it's nearly hair perfume.

American Cream es un acondicionador de pelo que contiene miel, fresas y vainilla. Inspirado en las cafeterías norteamericanas de los años 50, huele dulce pero suave y ayuda a suavizar el cabello y le aporta brillo. Aún no lo he usado lo suficiente para notar un gran cambio, pero si que he notado que deja el pelo más suave y oliendo como nunca ningún producto ha hecho que huela mi pelo: súper bien y durante mucho mucho tiempo, es casi perfume para el pelo.

Yuzu and cocoa bubbleroon contains bergamot oil, grapefruit, cocoa absolute and tonka, which if you don't know is a seed from a tree in South America. I love Lush's bubbleroons, they leave your skin very soft and the smell is glorious. My favorite one is Rose Jam bubbleroon (obviously), but this one I wanted to try for a change and I'm glad I bought it, it has a very sweet and tropical smell, nearly like piña colada.

Yuzu and cocoa bubbleroon contiene aceite de bergamota, pomelo, cacao y tonka, que para él/ la que no lo sepa es la semilla de un árbol que crece en Sudamérica. Me encantan las bubbleroons de Lush, dejan la piel extra suave y huelen de maravilla. Mi favorita es Rose Jam bubbleroon (obviamente), pero ésta la quería probar para cambiar un poco y me alegro de haberla comprado. Tiene un olor tropical y dulce, cómo a piña colada.

Big Blue is made with lemon, lavender and sea salt and has become one of my favorite bath bombs. I left it in the package for about a week before using it and my whole room smelt of it! I loved it. Once in water, it makes your tub look like your in tropical beach, the color of the water is gorgeous and the bath bomb has pieces of seaweed and big chunks of sea salt. Seriously obsessed with it.

Big Blue está hecha con limón, lavanda y sal de mar, y se ha convertido en una de mis bombas de baño favoritas. Antes de usarla, la dejé una semana en la bolsa, ¡y durante todo ese tiempo olía toda la habitación a Big Blue! Me encantó. Cuando la echas al agua parece que la bañera se ha convertido en el océano de alguna playa tropical, el color del agua es precioso y suelta trozos de alga y sal marina. Completamente obsesionada con éste producto.

Minimal NYFW

New York Fashion week ended just some days ago but I still keep looking at some of the amazing collections for spring-summer 2016. You could find very flamboyant collections like the ones by The Blonds or even Marc Jacobs, which I usually love, but this collection... It just didn't work for me, don't get me wrong, the concept was great and I really liked some details and pieces, but it's just not my style. But let's talk minimal; simple, monochromatic, edgy and elegant minimal fashion. Here are some of my favorite pieces or details I liked from spring-summer 2016 collections by Boss, Calvin Klein and DKNY. To me, these were the most minimal and lovely collections of NYFW.

La semana de la moda de Nueva York terminó hace solo unos días pero aún sigo mirando las increíbles colecciones de la temporada primavera- verano 2016. Se pueden encontrar colecciones extravagantes y llamativas cómo las de The Blonds o incluso la de Marc Jacobs, que por lo general es de mis diseñadores favoritos, pero ésta colección...Simplemente no me acaba de convencer, pero no os equivoquéis, la puesta en escena y el concepto de la colección me encantó, al igual que algunas piezas y detalles de la colección, pero tal vez no es del todo mi estilo. Pero hablemos de lo importante: moda simple, monocromática, edgy y elegante. Aquí os traigo algunas de mis piezas y detalles favoritos de las colecciones de Boss, Calvin Klein y DKNY para primavera- verano 2016, que a mi juicio son las colecciones minimalistas más bonitas de la semana de la moda de Nueva York.

Let's kick it with Calvin Klein: Silk, black, white and nude colours, flower pattern and sequins, all I could of wished for. I think this may be my favorite collection out of the ones I mention in this post. I love silk and I love flower patterns and I love monochromatic colours...and I love love love sparkling things like glitter and sequins. And weirdly enough I also liked the "torn apart" black jersey look in the 5th photo.

Comencemos con Calvin Klein: seda. blanco, negro y colores nude, estampados florales y lentejuelas, todo lo que una chica (como yo) podría desear. Ésta tal vez haya sido la colección que más me haya gustado de las que menciono en éste post. Me gusta la seda y me gustan los colores monocromáticos y me gustan los estampados florales...y sobretodo adoro las cosas brillantes cómo la purpurina y las lentejuelas. Y de alguna manera también me gusta el look del jerseys destrozado de la quinta imagen.

Boss brought fringes, angular cuts, tailoring and gorgeous dresses. The location of the runway for the fashion show was also lovely; the yellow and baby blue look great together.

Boss trajo flecos, cortes angulares, sastrería y preciosos vestidos. El lugar en el que se llevó a cabo la pasarela también me pareció adorable; el amarillo va genial con el azul claro.

                                         

                                       

DKNY's collection was made of silk, monochromatic, 90's era suit blazers and see through fabric. I really liked this collection, although less than Calvin Klein's. I specially liked the first look, not just because of the outfit but because of the make up and hair style. 

La colección de DKNY estaba hecha de seda, colores mocromáticos, trajes de chaqueta con estilo de los 90 y tela con transparencia. De veras que me gustó ésta colección, aunque no más que la de Calvin Klein. Me enamoré especialmente con el look del primer outfit, no sólo por la ropa si no por el maquillaje y el peinado.

NYFW 2015 Favorites

Hello dear readers! For all of us who love fashion, one of the most special times of the year has arrived, something like "christmas" to us: fashion month. Starting in New York, I wanted to show you some of the collections I've liked the most. I expected a lot of designers like Jeremy Scott, but I've got to say I was very dissapointed; a real pity. But let's talk about those collections that stood out to me, maybe I didn't love the whole collection, but there were, in fact, some looks that made me like the collection. Let's start with one of my all-time favorite designers: Michael Kors.

¡Hola queridos lectores! Para todos los que amamos la moda ha llegado esa época tan especial del año, algo así cómo nuestras "navidades", el mes de la moda para las colecciones primavera- verano. Comenzando por la semana de la moda en Nueva York, quería enseñaros algunas de las colecciones que más me han gustado. Esperaba mucho de colecciones cómo la de Jeremy Scott, pero he de decir que me decepcionó mucho; una pena. Pero hablemos de las que sí que me llamaron la atención, a lo mejor no toda la colección me enamoró, pero si que algunos looks me gustaron lo suficiente cómo para enseñároslos. Comencemos con uno de mis diseñadores favoritos: Michael Kors.

I really liked these two looks. The black shirt was just love at first sight. From the second look what I liked the most was the color palette, but the design of the clothes were beautiful too. And what is there to say about the shoes from the entire collecion.

Éstos dos son los looks que más me gustaron. La camisa negra del primer look fue amor a primera vista. Del segundo look lo que me llamó la atención fueron los colores, pero los cortes son preciosos también. Y que decir queda de los zapatos de la colección entera.

Summer is over, and we put our swimming costumes away, but, if I had THAT swimming costume, I would definitely wear it all year round. And finally, a not very wearable but still gorgeous outfit. I'm not very fond of turtle neck jerseys, but I've always wanted to have one because they look so good, specially after seeing this stunning black one. This jersey is simply gorgeous and perfect. And for extra points,the music that was played while the fashion show was going on was Florence + The Machine's new album, which I've fallen in love with.

Ya acabó el verano y guardamos los bañadores, pero si tuviera ESE bañador, me lo pondría todo el año, en serio. Y finalmente, un look no muy "ponible" pero igualmente bonito. Llevo tiempo buscando un jersey de cuello de cisne que me guste lo suficiente como para comprarlo, nunca me han llegado a convencer y al final nunca me compro ninguno, pero después de ver éste jersey negro mis ganas de tener uno han crecido. El jersey es simplemente perfecto y maravilloso. Y para sumar más puntos, la música que sonó durante el desfile fue el nuevo disco de Florence + The Machine, del que me he enamorado.

I even found that the make up for this collection was simply and pretty.

Incluso el maquillaje de ésta colección me pareció simple y bonito.

Next is one brand I discovered recently thanks to NYFW and bloggers: Ground Zero. Here are some of my favorite pieces from their collection for this season.

La siguiente marca la descubrí recientemente gracias a la semana de la moda de Nueva York y a bloggers que sigo: Ground Zero. Aquí os dejo algunas de mis piezas favoritas de su colección para ésta temporada.

What I liked the most about this collection were the details, actually it's not clothing I would wear, but I loved the styling and the details. For this collection, the brand mixed japanese pop and arty elements with urban cuts, elastic fabric like sweaters and bright colors. Something I would possibly wear (if I had money) is the leather jacket with japanese inspired patches. 

De ésta colección lo que más me gusto fueron los detalles, no es ropa que me pondría, sinceramente, pero tenía un estilo y unos detalles que me encantaron. Para ésta colección la marca mezcla elementos artísticos y pop japoneses con cortes muy urbanos cómo sudaderas, telas elásticas y colores llamativos. Posiblemente lo que si vestiría de ésta colección (si tuviera dinero) sería ésta chaqueta de cuero con parches de temática japonesa.

Next up was one of my favorite collections of NYFW: Zimmerman. Introducing a victorian inspired collection, just stunning, I loved it so much! The details of the fabrics and the color palette was the best.

A continuación, una de mis colecciones favoritas de toda la semana de la moda de Nueva York: Zimmerman. Presentando una colección inspirada en la vestimenta de la época victoriana, simplemente magnífica, me encantó. Los detalles de las telas y los colores que usaron fueron lo mejor.

                                      

                       

This last piece was my favorite. I love pastel colors, and the lace matches wonderfully with the pattern of the fabric. I also liked the sleves and frills of all the other pieces of the collection. I love me some victorian inspired clothing.

Ésta última pieza fue mi favorita. Adoro los colores pastel, y el encaje va perfectamente con el estampado de la tela. También me gustaron mucho las mangas y los volantes de todas las demás piezas de la colección. Me encanta la ropa inspirada en la época victoriana.

One collection I didn't like completely was Delpozo, I usually don't like their collections, but this time I really liked some of their pieces. My favorite points of this collection were the colors, shoes and the use of sequins and details that make the outfit stand out a bit more. My favorite pattern was the golden palm leaves with the with tops.

Una colección que no me gustó del todo fue la de Delpozo, normalmente no me gustan sus colecciones, pero ésta vez si que hubo algunas piezas que me gustaron de verdad. De ésta temporada me gustaron mucho los colores que presentaron, los zapatos y el uso de lentejuelas y apliques que aportaban brillo a los looks. Mi detalle favorito fue el estampado de hojas de palmeras doradas conjuntado con camisas blancas.

Babylon gardens

Hi everyone! After all this time missing, I would like to share with you some of the highlights of my trip to South Africa. As you all might know, I'm half southafrican and my family lives in Cape Town, so once or twice a year I visit them and everytime I go I try doing different things and going to new places. This time a friend of my mom's recommend we visited a wine farm in Franschhoek, one of the first European settlement in South Africa. The winery is called Babylonstoren, and it's actually a very famous hotel with stunning gardens, it was a shame that it was winter, so I couldn't see the gardens in all it's glory, but it was still a lovely visit, at least I saw the first spring blooms.

¡Hola a todos! Después de estar desaparecida éste verano, quiero compartir con vosotros algunos de mis momentos favoritos en mi viaje a Sudáfrica. Cómo algunos de vosotros sabréis, soy medio sudafricana y mi familia vive en Ciudad del Cabo, así que una o dos veces al año los visito, y cada vez que voy me gusta hacer cosas nuevas y distintas. En ésta ocasión, una amiga de mi madre nos recomendó visitar una "granja de vino" (o lagar) en Franschhoek, una de los primeros asentamientos europeos en Sudáfrica. El lagar es conocido cómo Babylonstoren, y es en realidad un famoso hotel con unos jardines espectaculares, fue una pena haber ido en invierno y no haber podido ver los jardines en todo su esplendor pero aún así fue una visita maravillosa, y por lo menos pudimos ver los primeros brotes y florecimientos de la primavera.

What I liked the most was to walk on a big patch of camomile; everytime I step on it, it smelt amazingly nice, and it was so soft and refreshing. I just loved the experience, I could've stayed there a whole day long. (Excuse the bad state of my nail polish).

Lo que más me gustó fue andar por encima de camomila; cada vez que lo pisaba, emanaba un olor maravilloso, y era suave y refrescante. Me encantó la experiencia, podría haberme quedado ahí todo el día. (Siento el mal estado de la pintura de uñas).

There were also lot's of cute animals like donkies, chickens, guinea fowls and the sweetest squirrels. 

También había muchos animales adorables cómo burritos, gallinas, gallinas de Guinea y las ardillas más lindas del mundo. Fue una visita muy completa.
